Hotline Prayer Requests

May 14, 2008

Japan: In February 2008, two men began attending the Kamifukuoka FWB church. One of the men has been attending services regularly and came to know Christ in April. Praise God for the salvation of this man and pray for Ken Bailey as he leads him through follow-up classes and prepares him for baptism.

Bulgaria: The Good News FWB Church in Svishtov is having a men’s retreat May 16-18. Several unsaved men are attending the retreat. Pray relationships will be built and the men will desire to visit a Bible study group or the church.

Stateside: Paul Creech, former missionary to Côte d’Ivoire, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer January 29. Paul underwent extensive surgery Monday, May 5. As of Wednesday morning, May 14, Paul was in intensive care and is critical but stable. Fervently pray God will intervene. Also, pray God will be a comfort to the family during this time of waiting.

Panama: Praise the Lord, several who attended the Chitré Good News FWB Church’s outreach during Easter continued attending services. Pray these visitors will feel the Spirit working in their lives and respond to His prompting.

Bulgaria: Yanna Awtrey, daughter of Tim and Lydia Awtrey, will have medical tests next week. Pray for the Awtrey family as they await the results of these tests.

Japan: Dale and Sandra Bishop will be fulfilling responsibilities at the Good News Chapel FWB Church in the Tokyo area during Donnie and Ruth McDonald’s stateside assignment. Pray for the Bishops and church members during this time of transition.

Brazil: Kimberly Johnson (career missionary), Paige Autry (short term), and Cindy Hall (short term) have applied for visas to Brazil and hope to depart the end of June or first of July. Due to Brazilian government policies this process is becoming increasingly more difficult. Pray the paperwork will move through the system quickly and the remainder of their financial needs will be met.

Student Ministries: A College Missions Program (CMP) team to France is undergoing training today, May 14. Pray for this team as they prepare to minister to the lost and to the French church. Pray for wisdom for Charolette Tallent, former missionary to France, who is leading the team.
