Jeff Turnbough Christmas Program in Villalba's New Building
Last Sunday (December 20, 2009) was a special day at the FWB Church in Villalba, Spain. The church celebrated its annual Christmas program, but this year in its new building --a building many have waited 20 years to see. The very first service took place earlier in the day on Sunday morning, and it was a time of rejoicing about God's faithfulness for those who form part of the local community of believers. (See video clip)
Sunday evening the church held its annual Christmas program, which is typically an event to which believers invite family and friends from outside the church. (See pictures after the video clip.) This year was special because many people wanted to come and see the new building. The main floor has a seating capacity of between 120-130, and it was full. People were standing in the back and in the entryway watching the program! That was great! The balcony is not complete yet, but between another 70-80 will be able to sit there. It was a blessing to be celebrating Christ's birth in the new facility, and many of the visitors rejoiced with the Villalba congregation, both believers and non-believers!
Several believers from the earlier years in the church's history were present, as well as believers from other Evangelical churches in the area. Many remarked about the potential they see for this church now and in the future. It has a unique opportunity that many local Evangelical churches in Spain do not have.
Thank you for your prayerful support of the ministry in Villalba. Rejoice with us and the Villalba congregation for reaching this milestone in its history, and pray with us that local believers will dedicate this new facility (and themselves) to reach out to more lost people in the community, the nation, and the world. I truly believe the Lord has great things in store for this local community of believers.
