E-TEAM Brazil News Archive 2008 Ouro Verde and the Jesus Film

On Saturday our TEAM went to Ouro Verde Mission Church to help pass out invitations for their annual showing of the Jesus film. We split up into four teams and, along with some members of the church, went throughout the neighborhood handing out invitations. The TEAM had to memorize the phrase "Um Convite", which means "an invitation". We all had a very good time interacting with people in the neighborhood.

After our TEAM handed out invitations we prepared for the Jesus film. There was a problem with the equipment arrival, but through the prayer of ETEAM and church members the movie was still able to be shown. The equipment arrived an hour late but everyone spent the spare time fellowshipping with one another and sharing the Gospel with people.

Two 10 year old girls (Tahuane and Raiane) asked Pastor Tom why an American would leave their country to come here to Brazil. He told her that we came to talk to her. She asked how we knew that she was here. Pastor Tom told her that we knew there would be those that we would meet, and that he came just to meet her. She sat with him during the film and we got her address for the church to do follow up.

Right before the film started a man in black leather arrived to the showing. Brother Tom and Christian offered him a seat but he wanted to stand. We thought he would only stay for a while to see what was going on, but he stood through the entire movie staring at the screen. After the movie was over one of the church members talked with him.

We could really see God moving on Saturday night. Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers.
