E-TEAM Chicago News Archive 2010 Fliers, Fliers, and More Fliers!
As the third official day of our journey in Chicago is taking off, we have been putting in hours, blood, sweat, and tears into passing out these 14,000 fliers that Pastor David has for us. As hard as this may sound, though, we are constantly hearing of the effects of all our hard work. Phone calls are constantly coming to the church of parents that want to enroll their children for the Veggie Tales Adventures next week as well as the basketball camp next month. These calls are responses to the thousands of fliers that we have worked hard to deliver to these people's doorsteps. I think I speak for the whole team when I say that we are so excited for what God has planned for the people and children that we are affecting with these fliers and with VTA next week.
Yesterday after passing out a total of about 5,000 fliers, Pastor David took us to a part of town immersed in Indian culture. All the clothing stores were filled with burkas (the clothing that Muslim women wear), and many shops were quite ethnic, with various things that represented the Indian culture and religion. After walking around this part of the city and being introduced to this cultural part of the city, Pastor David took us to an Indian restaurant, filled with ethnic foods that may not have looked appetizing, but our whole team was willing to try everything. Of course it was spicy food, but it was different from what we are used to, and actually not too bad. It was a great cultural experience for everyone.
