E-TEAM Cuba News Archive 2009 Last Preparations

June 15th, 2009

We depart tomorrow! The week has been filled with classes, games, culture, etc. We have learned a lot about Cuba as well as about ourselves and team members.

We went to church on Sunday at Trinity FWB. We were very blessed by the people there and the preaching. We just hope that we were a blessing to them as well. After church was laundry time and a quick trip to Wal-Mart for the forgotten essentials. We had a history of missions class that taught us about the pioneers of missions. Then everyone had group pictures before eating pizza for supper. In the evening service we were challenged to be servants with a willing heart to please God not only people. After service, all of the teams competed against each other in the "Ablazing Race!" Unfortunately we did not win but we had a great time competing. We enjoyed having Bonny Kate's family with us during part of the evening as we celebrated her 18th birthday. (Thanks for the delicious cake!)

Today, we had our last Benchmark activity where we reflected on our experiences of the past week. We were also challenged to remember to P.E.E. (Plan, Experience, Evaluate) throughout the rest of our lives. We have had most of the day to spend packing and practicing the finishing touches on our songs and mime. Tonight is the concert of prayer and commissioning of the teams.

We leave for the airport at 11:00 am tomorrow to catch our flight at 1:35 to New Orleans. We fly from New Orleans to Ft. Lauderdale at 3:30. When we arrive in Ft. Lauderdale we will get on a bus to Miami where we will spend the night in a hotel before leaving for Cuba the early next morning.

We might not be able add news while we are in Cuba and if we are able to, it won't be often.

We are thinking of you and ask that you pray for us. We are taking five extra bags with us that might cost extra money. Please continue to pray for us while we are in Cuba that we would bring glory to God through everything we do.
