E-TEAM Hokkaido News Archive 2007 ETEAM HOKKAIDO WORKS AT CARNIVAL
On Saturday we assisted the Kita Hiroshima Church with the Children's Carnival. It was a beautiful day and over 100 people attended. Some important contacts were made with people in the neighborhood. We had a great time playing games with the children. After the carnival we had an opportunity to visit one of the "100 yen" stores (which is the equivalent of our "dollar stores"). We bought a few souveniors and then headed over to the Koinonia Church for a joint youth meeting with other churches in the area. They fed us supper and then we had a time of singing, sharing testimonies, and prayer. Some of the team members said the youth meeting was one of their "best times" so far. They had an opportunity to visit, talk and get to know several of the Japanese Christian youths!
On Sunday we attended church with the missionaries at the Miharashidai Church. The team sang a couple of songs and two team members gave their testimonies. After the church service, we had lunch, which was a "traditional" Japanese box lunch. We could choose between chicken, pork or fish - everyone seemed to enjoy their lunch. After lunch the "house parents" for our team members came to the church for a tea party. We had refreshments and played some games to get to know the house parents a little better. About 3:00 the Japanese house parents took the team members home for an overnight stay. I'm sure the team members will have lots of things to tell after their home stays. They are to return Monday afternoon abut 5:30.
