E-TEAM Spain News Archive 2009 "Under the Sea"

June 25th, 2009

Today we worked at the Alpedrete Center (Centro De Encuentos) translated Encounter Center. They offer various classes/activities to the people of Alpedrete that include: English storytelling time, teaching English, cooking classes, crafts for "Mommy and Me", and most importantly encounters with God. These activities have proven to be successful in building positive relationships with the people here through the years. Their purpose is to build a relationship of trust, then introduce Bible teachings to them. This approach has helped build a bridge with the people. This has taken some time but results can certainly be seen through this effort. Through this outreach ministry, their Sunday services have shown a steady increase. This is definitely evident that God is working through these faithful missionaries. They had their highest number this past Sunday-43. "Praise the Lord!"

They are hosting a youth party for children tomorrow night, "Under the Sea". They will have several stations for children to go to: face painting, storytelling, crafts, Go fishing activity, snacks, and take home a goodie bag, and a fish frame with each child's picture inside. We helped decorate the center for this event and will participate with each of the fun activities. We are so excited!! We are also glad that we were able to help them with this ministry. We are looking forward to meeting all those precious little children tomorrow night and being a part of this. Please pray that the turnout will be good and that through this continuous work, God will be glorified.

The center will also host a Teen Party Saturday night that we will also participate in. We are looking forward to having fellowship with them and getting to know them through games, snacks, and other activities. We will tell you all about it tomorrow.

Our time here in Spain is going by fast but we are so thankful for the opportunity to come here and be a part of God's work. The missionaries have opened their homes to us in so many ways and we just can't thank them enough for their hospitality. They have taken us to places so we can have a better understanding for Spain's history, helped us experience the culture with all types of delicious foods and desserts, and have shared their concern for unbelievers and their vision, and we have seen how God is working here in Spain. We have even improved on our Spanish!!!!

Tomorrow is another fun-filled day. We will share that with you tomorrow. One thing for sure, we are looking forward to seeing what God has in store for each of us.
We are all doing great. Everyone has a good attitude and getting along good. Please pray for us as we continue to allow God to use us to help do His work here in Spain.
Lots of love
