E-TEAM Tokyo News Archive 2009 Children's Dino Party

June 27th, 2009

We had 103 people at the Dinosaur Party! We are very excited about the turnout and are hopeful that the party increased the church's visibility in this neighborhood. We began setting up for the party at 1:00pm and cleared out the rented room by 4:30, so it wasn't extremely long. We did spend about two and a half hours handing out flyers and putting literature in mailboxes. Combined with the couple of other times we put tracts in mailboxes we've put out many hundreds of them (no exact count).

Yesterday we went to a publishing facility in Tokyo called New Life League, which publishes Bibles and other literature in dozens of languages and helps distribute them throughout the world. The director of the New Life League wove an impressive narrative about the history of the organization as well as plans for the future. We were all amazed at the work God has done through this ministry and at the world's need for Bibles. He explained that in Africa alone there is a bare minimum of 50 million believers who cannot get a copy of the Bible! I encourage you to look at the website.

After lunch we took an excursion to Mount Mitake. It was a beautiful area but I don't have much to discuss about it, so I'll leave that to the website I linked to the mountain's name ;)

Tomorrow we are going home with English speaking Japanese families that the Bailey's asked to play host to one or two of us for one night. Please pray that we will all be effective witnesses for the Lord as at least some of the families we are staying with have not professed faith in Jesus Christ.
