Missionaries Japan Josh and Alicia Crowe Waiting for Spring to ...well... Spring

March 23rd, 2010

Greetings from cold, blustery Hokkaido, Japan. March 20 marked the first day of Spring, yet here in Hokkaido, it seems that winter still has a firm grasp on the situation. We are lucky to get above freezing for high temps and we see snow most days. In spite of this, our spirits are high. "Why?" you might ask. Well, the truth is, no matter how long it takes...Spring WILL come. Each day more of the ice that covers our world slowly melts away. Everything is pointing to that inevitable event! How reassuring that is.

Much like Spring, we see slow progress toward acclimating to Japanese life. It's been slow and not without disappointments, but we're getting there. We now both have driver's licenses. This is HUGE as the process is "involved" to say the least. We are plodding through Japanese language study. There are tough days when we feel we can't say anything above the 2-year old level, but there are good days as well. Please pray for our stamina in this area.

We appreciate the prayers that come our way. We know that we have a huge support base all over the world and we count on all of you! Thank you for partnering with us here in Japan.

Let this prayer be your own:
"God, please fill me with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. I pray this in order that I may live a life worthy of the You, Lord and may please You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that I may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the You, my Father, who have qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For You have rescued me from the dominion of darkness and brought me into the kingdom of the Son You love, in whom I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
