PRESENT MINISTRY
The Eagleton's returned to Brazil on January 7, 2008. Kenneth teaches at the Campinas Bible Institute and head up leadership training for local churches. He also serves as chairman for the Brazil Field Council and coordinator of the field literature project. Rejane assists Kenneth in translating and editing literature.
CONVERSION
Kenneth accepted Christ as Savior when he was eight years of age. Growing up in a Christian home and observing the evangelistic efforts of his parents, missionaries Ken and Marvis Eagleton, greatly influenced him and drew him to the Lord.
Rejane was born and raised in Brazil. She accepted Christ as Savior when she was 11 years of age. Missionaries Bobby and Sue Aycock and Jim and Shirley Combs had a great influence on her as she sat under their teaching in Sunday school and vacation Bible school.
EARLY MINISTRY
Dr. Kenneth has been active in Christian service since his early teen years. He often spoke as a lay preacher and taught Sunday school. He was founder and leader of a mission church in São Luis de Montes Belos, Goias, Brazil, for two and one-half years. During this time he also practiced medicine at a Christian hospital in the area.
Since her teenage years, Rejane has been active in the work of the Lord. As a Brazilian Christian, she served as a counselor in youth camp, taught Sunday school and worked in vacation Bible school.
Appointed as associate missionaries in 1984, the Eagletons worked for a year at Doropo, Côte d’Ivoire, before going to France in 1986 for language study. In January of 1988 they returned to Doropo to resume their ministry. Dr. Kenneth treated patients and served as hospital administrator. In addition, he taught and preached in Doropo and mission churches in the surrounding area. In May of 1998 a milestone was reached when the administration of the Doropo hospital was turned over to African Christians.
From 1998 to 2002 Dr. Kenneth was involved in various levels of leadership training. He was appointed director of the Bible institute in Bouna where he was teaching. He also participated with other missionaries in establishing a community health and evangelism (CHE) program. Kenneth and Rejane were evacuated from Côte d’Ivoire with other missionaries in October 2002 as a result of an attempted coup d’etat on September 19, 2002 and the resulting civil war.
After 18 years of ministry in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, in April 2003 Kenneth and Rejane received permission to transfer to Brazil. In March of 2004 they relocated to Belo Horizonte, Brazil, to work in the mission church during Jim and Vicki Sturgill’s stateside assignment. Kenneth was also involved in training pastors and other church leaders through Bible institute classes. In 2006 they relocated to Campinas, São Paulo.
