Missionaries Japan Nathan and Linda Snow April brings new growth

April 1st, 2010

April in Japan means many things. Besides the signs of new spring growth, it is the beginning of the fiscal year, as well as the beginning of the school year.

We continue to see new growth and fruit in the youth group that the kids in the church lead. As adults, we do what we can to “support” it, but the kids are inviting their friends and “running the show.” We help them by providing the taxi service and the meal.

The group meets on Monday evenings. One week is a “party” with a devotion and the next week is a Bible study. The kids are coming together and learning about God. Many come on Sundays as well. Recently one girl prayed to believe. Rejoice with us! Please continue to pray for believers to be strengthened and seekers to take a bold step of faith in Christ.

Recently one of the church families has experienced some difficulties. The father lost his job and the daughter in that family has stopped going to school, church, and doesn’t want to be around other people. The mother’s faith seems shaken and she will not attend church either. Please pray with us for God’s hand to be seen in their family. Pray for hope and healing to flood their home.

The winter season has brought many opportunities for skiing and snowboarding. Megan, Andrew, and Jake must ski at school (winter P.E.), but quickly trade their skis for snowboards when they go with their friends. Daniel and his friends like to hit the slopes on snowboards. The church youth had a couple of chances to go together. We are blessed and thankful for the beautiful Hokkaido winters. As I write this at the first of April, we can still see most of the fields covered with snow, but there are patches of ground shining through and the hope of spring is in the air.

April brings changes for the family. Andrew will start Junior High School this year and Megan will be in the 9th grade. Jacob will be the only Snow kid in the Elementary school (3rd grade). Noah and Josiah will attend the local Christian kindergarten. Daniel will continue to study at home. Linda will teach a mother’s outreach English class at the kindergarten this year. Nathan will continue his preaching rotation, but also explore some ways to share Christ with Japanese men who are very busy with their jobs.

Thank you so much for your faithful support. Your prayers sustain and encourage us. As many of you know, the mission is experiencing financial difficulties. Many Free Will Baptists across the nation have given from their hearts to help. We praise God for this. Thank you for your part.
