Missionaries Panama Steve and Lori Torrison Penonome Outreach Event a Success
Saturday, September 10, the students of the Panama FWB seminary arrived to flood the streets of our target neighborhood with invitations to a "Big Family Event" that we held in the park that evening.
The event drew quite a crowd, as the students sang and performed skits, and our good friend "Valentina" the clown (Brenda Bunch) made balloons for the children.
We were concerned that our limited seating would be discouraging to late -comers, but the people gladly stood, many for upwards of an hour, as the Gospel was clearly presented over and over in each song, drama, and clown trick.
Some might say they are just small town folk starved for entertainment, but we believe they are also hungry for the Word. By the end, over 130 people had gathered, and afterwards 9 people gave us their name, address, and phone number, indicating that they had received Christ and were interested in doing a Bible study. Praise the Lord!
Thank you to all those who prayed for this event. We were especially pleased that even though it had rained every evening this week, after a brief noon shower, we had clear skies for our outdoor event.
