NEHEMIAH
PROJECT UPDATE #6
November 1, 2007
The Villalba
Church Groundbreaking Service was held this afternoon on
the church property. Forty-eight people attended. (It was a
Spanish holiday, so several more would have come if they
had not been out of town.) Pastor-in-training, Jhon Fredy,
led the service with a devotion. José Manuel, pastor of the
FWB church across Madrid in Alcalá, prayed. Missionary Jeff
Turnbough gave a report on how we got to this point. The
Church Council went to the front and after a dedicatory
prayer, used shovels to officially break the ground. It was
a celebratory service, and everyone was thrilled that we
were finally to this step in this long-awaited process.
Before leaving, we all shared in fellowship and
thanksgiving as we ate finger foods/snacks together. (We
are good FWB, as we always enjoy eating together when we
have a chance!) Please join us in thanking the Lord for the
opportunity to come together like this and celebrate all He
has done in getting us to the place where we can begin
building soon. We are hoping to begin construction sometime
between Nov. 15-20. Contracts still need to be signed, so
that will take a few days.
