This work was
started by Jeff and Susan Turnbough in the summer of 1984.
Many other missionaries have also worked here: the Owens,
the Reeves, the Crosbys, Lynn Midgett, the McVays, the
Johnsons, the Edgmons, the Matthew Turnboughs, and the
Smiths. The church purchased property in 1989 and started
to build in 1991, when the local police stopped the
construction. After 13 years of court battles, the church
won in the Superior Court of Madrid and the city was forced
to grant the building permit. The church is still waiting
for the permit to be granted.
