Alpedrete borders Villalba, and therefore is only a short
distance from the Villalba work. The small town of 15,000
is growing, as young families move there in large numbers.
This work has been a model of following the field strategy
—both in terms of its location (it is close to
another existing work) as well as the approach to the work.
The Edgmons and the Johnsons opened an outreach center in
December 2005. The plan was to offer diverse activities,
several of which would be in English, to open the doors to
building relationships and eventually opening a church.
After several local believers expressed their desire to
begin church services right away, the decision was made to
begin on February 4, 2006. The majority of those who gather
for Sunday worship at the center are families with young
children. The church is growing and continues to reach out
to those who live in Alpedrete.
