Mission Spain copy

NATIONAL MINISTRY CENTER

In 2000, FWBIM workers in Spain asked the Lord to give them a vision for His work in and through them for the next 25 years. As a church-planting mission, workers envision a large group of autonomous local churches. (“Church” being a local group of believers fulfilling the basic functions of the local church as outlined in the New Testament.) The vision is that this “large group” of local churches will work to impact their local communities with the gospel, and that they will work together to extend the Kingdom of God throughout Spain and the world until Jesus returns. In order to do this without the help of the mission, FWBIM workers decided that this “group of churches” would need to be at least ten to fifteen clusters of churches, with three to five churches in each cluster. The clusters would be churches in a close geographical location, so that they can have fellowship with one another, cooperate on joint projects, and in general be there for one another for whatever needs the others have.

In the Madrid area, where the work of FWBIM began, most people live in an urban setting. For weekends, holidays and vacations, most people look for an opportunity to get out of the city into surrounding rural areas, for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Spanish believers love attending camps and retreats in beautiful locations outdoors, simply to be surrounded by and to enjoy God’s creation. For these two reasons, a camp and retreat center became a component of the 25-year strategy.

FWBIM workers decided that rather than waiting until enough churches exist to begin the camp/retreat center, it would be a good idea to go ahead and start this ministry now, with the idea of the center becoming a strategic place for evangelism as well as for the edification of present believers. Because of Spaniard’s love of nature, having a place to invite non-Evangelical family, friends, and neighbors is a wise investment of funds and personnel. The center will not only serve the churches in the future, it will be a strategic center for workers and churches today working to reach the vision of the larger group of autonomous churches. The center will be for every believer, every worker, and every local church participating in the vision God has given to FWBIM workers in Spain.

In addition to this idea, one central facility that belongs to and is used by all will:
1. Give credibility to the FWBIM work in Spain.
2. Cause a sense of ownership to all believers and local churches working toward the same goal.
3. Be a central headquarters for the movement.
4. Provide a place where leaders can come together for prayer, planning, and training.
5. Serve as accommodations for the many visiting groups that FWBIM now receives from the United States and other places.
6. Be a mutual and international blessing, by offering multiple opportunities for service for many believers in the USA that have expressed interest in helping in the work in Spain, yet at the same time be a tangible blessing to believers and local churches in Spain for years to come.
7. Be a tranquil and economical place for workers in Spain to retreat.

Others have agreed with FWBIM workers in Spain, and are excited about what the National Ministry Center will offer the work in Spain. In July of 2001, the Board of FWBIM approved a $1.6 million budget for this Vision Project. Subsequently, the National Association of FWB also approved the dream. The Federation of FWB Churches in Spain has enthusiastically endorsed the National Ministry Center. Local churches and believers both in Spain and the United States are excited, and have begun to give funds and many are asking in what ways they can be involved in the development of this project we have now dubbed “Mission Spain.” We invite you to partner with us, to make this dream a reality. You can do that by:

1. Committing to PRAY for Mission: Spain.
2. Committing to GIVE either a cash gift, or a monthly pledge for the next 3 years.
3. Decide to come to Spain to help with the project.

Let us know today in what ways you will help us. A
Contact Form is provided for your use. This is an eternal investment in the Kingdom work in Spain, with mutual benefits for those who participate and all the believers and local churches in Spain, both those that exist today, and all those that will exist from now until Jesus returns.
