Hola everyone,
Hurricane season has officially begun and we are expecting
a "tropical storm" to hit our church tomorrow afternoon
about 5:30. It's our beach-themed VBS, called Isla Canoa,
and we already have 45 children signed up. That may not
sound like a lot of children for most American churches,
but our ENTIRE church has just a little over 850 square
feet and every inch of it will be used. We will have two
main rooms for our VBS classes: Bible, music, crafts, and
snack. The children will rotate from space to space, and
all the while we'll be trying to keep the noise level
manageable so we won’t bother the neighbors who live
in the apartments above our church. This is one tropical
storm that will be remembered here in Alpedrete, as our
children learn Biblical truths that will change their lives
forever!
Some prayer requests for the week...
...Pray for our unsaved friends and contacts whose children
will be attending, that God will use the Truth they learn
to speak to their hearts.
...Pray for the teachers that they will have energy,
patience, and stamina while they minister to each child.
...Pray that the heat will not be unbearable in our church
and that our "tropical breezes" (fans and a possible
portable air conditioner) will help keep things cooled off.
We'll write again next week with news from Isla
Canoa!
Tim, Kristi, Alejandro, and
Ana!
