Tim and Kristi Johnson - as they work with Anthony and Lea Edgmon on the “Alpedrete Team” opening a new work in that town. They are involved in various ways in the town and are making many contacts wherever they go. The Grand Opening of the "Centro de Encuentros" was December 18, 2005 (see photo below). They now meet at the center for church services on Sunday mornings, and have close to 20 attending each week. Tim and Kristi are presently on Stateside Assignment (December 07 - August 08)

Sam and June McVay - They are working with Jeff and Susan Turnbough in the “National Ministries Team” in the area of leadership development and the development of a National Multi-Purpose Ministry Center. They continue to work with the local church in Villalba, lead Bible studies, and perform their duties as Field Council Chairman (Sam) and Field Secretary-Treasurer (June). Sam and June will be on Stateside Assignment April 08 - February 09.

Jeff and Susan Turnbough - They are working with Sam and June McVay in the newly-formed “National Ministries Team”, focusing on leadership development and the development of a National Multi-Purpose Ministries Center. Jeff was named by the FWBIM Board in July, 2006, as the new Regional Director for Europe. Please pray for their ministry in Spain, and especially as Jeff adds the new role of Regional Director to all he is already doing.

Matthew and Brooke Turnbough - Along with their ministry in the Villalba church, they have developed a new ministry of social work among immigrants in the area. Their first child, Andrew (Andrés) Conor Turnbough was born on September 8, 2006...on his grandfathers (Jeff Turnbough) birthday. Please pray that the new ministry will go smoothly.

Other Mission Prayer Requests:

Building of a FWB church in Villalba - MAJOR PRAISE ITEM!!! The city council of Galapagar (where the property that the Villalba church owns is located) met in December, 2006, and unanimously approved the request for a building permit. The church received the news in a certified letter on January 2, 2007. After 15 years of owning the property, and 13 of those years in court battles for receiving the permit, the church is now rejoicing over this recent decision. An additional praise item is that the church has been exempt from paying more taxes (since they paid them 15 years ago). They are making plans to get a loan for the construction, as well as find a constuction company to be responsible for the construction. Click here to read in more detail about this praise item.

Spanish Pastor José Manuel Parrón, and his wife, Carmen, have completed three years as pastor of the Esperanza FWB Church in the city of Alcalá de Henares, when the work started in 2004. This is our second FWB church in that large city of over 200,000 people. They are averaging about 20 people each week. Pray that they will reach many unsaved people with the Gospel in that city.

The church in Colmenar Viejo, with Cuban pastor Juan Carlos, celebrated their 3-year anniversary in September, 2007. It was standing-room only, as they gave thanks for the blessings of God on their church during this past year and for the 30 regular attendees of the church.

Four of the five Free Will Baptist churches in Spain (Madrid area) united for the
2nd Annual Joint FWB Church Retreat on May 20-21, 2006. Ninety-eight (98) people from the four churches gathered for fun, fellowship, and worshipping the Lord together. This is the largest participation yet, which is more than double from the 1st retreat last year. Pray that all of our FWB churches will be united in the work we all are involved in...to get the Gospel to the lost in Spain. (See photo below.)
