Matthew and Brooke Turnbough
Matthew and Brooke Turnbough
were appointed
as short-term missionaries to Spain by the Board of
International Missions in December of 2002. In January
they began traveling to share about the needs in Spain
and to raise support. They arrived in Spain in August of
2003.
Matthew was involved in the music, discipleship classes and
coordinated social outreach for the Villalba Church.
Brooke's main goal was to learn Spanish. She completed her
final year of language studies in June 2005 from the
University of Madrid Complutense.
In July of 2005, they returned Stateside and were approved
as career missionaries. They returned to Spain in August,
2006 to begin their first term as career missionaries.
Their first child, Andrew (Andrés), was born on September
8, 2006, on the birthday of his Abuelo (Grandpa) Jeff
Turnbough.
Conversion:
Matthew was saved at the age of
4 in his home. He made the decision while in college to
serve the Lord through mission work in his home country of
Spain. He grew up seeing the needs in a country where less
than 1% are believers.
Brooke was saved at age 6 in her home. As she got older,
she began realizing the importance of having a personal
relationship with the Lord. Brooke visited Spain before
marrying Matthew and also realized the need and wanted to
serve Him in Spain. Their prayer is that they can be used
in Spain for His glory.
Early
Ministry:
Matthew is a member of Donelson
Fellowship in Nashville, TN. Brooke is a member of Pathway
FWB Church in Huntsville, AL and is an associate member at
Donelson Fellowship in Nashville, TN.
